| Yesterday’s storms impacted many communities across our county, including the Village of Frankfort. During and after the storm, the Frankfort Fire Protection District responded to over 110 calls for service. We had calls for everything from power outages and fallen power lines to storm damage, EMS assists, flooded roadways, and collapsed/destroyed commercial buildings. Our firefighters spent the day helping citizens with whatever they needed, assisting motorists trapped in vehicles by flooded roadways, and even stopping an outside fire at a residence that had spread from a generator.
It was nice to see something positive this morning. Our Frankfort Junior Firefighter Camp started this morning with 25 energetic kids ready to learn about the fire service.
Thanks go out to Fire Marshal Zach Pavesich and the firefighters who spent last night responding to storm-related 911 calls and stayed over or came in this morning to teach and spend time with the kids. You guys are always “On Duty” when it comes to teaching the future firefighters. Thank you for your commitment, professionalism, and dedication to serving the citizens of Frankfort. |
