Wreaths Across America is a meaningful initiative that honors and remembers the sacrifices of veterans by placing wreaths on their graves during the holiday season. In Elwood, Illinois, this heartfelt tribute takes place at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, where volunteers, families, and community members come together to pay their respects. The Frankfort Fire Cadets proudly contributed to this year’s event by serving veterans and their guests coffee, hot chocolate, and doughnuts. Despite the windy and cold weather, the Cadets provided over 500 cups of warm beverages, exemplifying their dedication to supporting the program and its mission. Year after year, their participation underscores the importance of honoring and uniting those who attend to pay tribute to the veterans who courageously fought for our country. |
